Hello there earth beings, and others... }:)

I am the being known as Landon Solomon. I am also the source of all this, (ahem...) mayhem. Some call me naive, some call me odd, some call me crazy, but those who really know me well just call me... sad. Oh yeah, there is also the occasional brave rare soul that calls me, friend (ok, perhaps not so brave...) I would be the one in the photo at left...

But enough fun... No, I mean it. Trot has lent me this small corner of his personal space so that I can make myself known to the world and far be it from me to miss an opportunity to be known! So, with that in mind, here I am!

I graduated from ITT Knoxville in June of 1996, But not before I graduated Powell High in '94. (Kinda follows, Ya know?) ITT is a wonderful place to attend school, they found the job I'm currently at. : )

My current job is at Texas Instruments working as an equipment technician. This basically means that when something breaks I go fix it. If we do a good enough job with the machinery and keep the stuff up to snuff, we get to sit on our lazy butts and do nothing. (does playing Descent count as nothing?)

I was previously employed by CompUSA doing Telephone tech support for the HiVal corporation. Kindof a largish jump from the most hi-tech machinery in the world to a computer technician but it payed the bills rather nicely. : )

I enjoy 'primitive camping' (I always thought camping had to be done with sleeping bags and or tents, which I prefer) as opposed to the RVing some prefer.

I also get a kick out of dressing up in outdated clothing and parading around with others of the same mindset. I normally do this at one of the local 'faires'. Two of the more common in my area are 'Scarbourough Faire', 'Hawkwood Fantasy Faire'. For a look at what I look like, here's a picture of me in costume.

There is a very addictive thing called IRC that I used to indulge myself in... If you find the right channel to talk (chat) on it can take most of your free-time away from you. For me this channel has been #furry on Yiffnet. Here 'furs' from around the globe meet to talk about absolutely nothing and everything all at the same time. Mostly we try to remain as silly as we can get, but the conversation can get ugly (OS wars, ugh!)

Although I work with equipment that is slowly building tomorrow, my real love will always be with the old technologies. I love railroads, steam locomotives to be exact. I have built one working engine which, if rebuilt out of all metal parts, could run on steam. I currently am building on plans for a live, or real, steam engine(the first ran on compressed air.) This one is currently up-and-running but still has quite a few plastic parts that wouldn't be able to handle the high temperatures of the steam. Well, it's getting there. : )

Yeah yeah... I know. If you haven't figgered' it out by now... Yes, *sigh* I'm another one of those phunky furrys. ;) Just think though... How boring would the world be without those of us that are not... (ewww) normal? Don't get too upset now. I know some furs are a little extreem... so I am putting this here. I fancy myself more the care-free, basiclly non-yiffy, sorta like Todd (The Fox and the Hound) only with black and white mottled fur, Fox. If you happen to drop by Yiffnet while Trot's there sometime you might see me... er, him, give a scritch or playfull fuzzle. Here's a few pix of me trying to look 'foxy' in my costume... The first few are when the roomate did me up as a red fox for practice. The later ones are supposed to be a grey fox but it ended up looking more feline than vulpine.

I've also started hanging around with another group on the 'net that go by ther call sign of 'the weres'. Imagine if you will that werewolves are real... Now know that they are. They aren't physical shapeshifters like the ones in the movies (at least not to my knowledge) but rather mental and/or spiritual shifters. These folks let their mind-set take on a more animalistic set of rules when they shift. (don't worry, I don't think any of them has ever eaten anyone... could be wrong though *shrug*) I see myself as what the Japanese would call a Nogitsune. I'll have a link to explain more shortly... Basicly though, I'm a fox... The nogitsune are wild foxes and I don't see myself as a particularly tame being... Don't worry though, I'm house-trained. (as if you couldn't tell from the picture...)
